They Told Me

A Poem By Laura Willshaw

“Be careful, take care, pay heed. Your baby’s in danger. Your body may bleed.”

They told me…,”Sadness in your past could happen again, Use our machines, your body’s no friend. Sit straight, lay back, don’t comfortably bend.”

They told me…,”We’ll scan you and touch you, just to make sure, your body can’t do it, it didn’t before.”

“The baby’s too big… the baby’s too small..there’s too much fluid or there’s none at all.”

“36 weeks is too early 42 is too late. This is policy –  there is no debate”

“The baby’s at risk. You’re putting it there. Having a home birth is not really fair.”

They guilt me and challenged me and made me so mad. Is wanting the best for my baby so bad?

I told them:  No. I will take no more. The attitudes towards me have been very poor.

So I challenged and questioned, and asked them right back.

Their answers were meager…their speeches were mild. They talked to me as though I was a child.

So I found faith in my body to do it alone. To be comfortable and calm and be at my home.

I found groups and ladies in an on-line land. Where we share and chat and virtually hold-hands.

I learned that my body of course can be strong. I learned what my body knew all along. To follow my instincts, a womanly intuition. I hope that others manage to listen.  Sometimes birth doesn’t happen at home, but the choice is a mother’s and it’s hers alone.

My births were wonderful. Not scary or bad – that’s why I love these groups to say, “We’re not mad”. I hate that we fight to get something normal and natural.

Spread the word  –

Choosing our birth isn’t fantasy it’s something that’s actual!

  1. Standing up to the allopathic doctors is to stand up for a free humanity. It stands to reason, the a woman giving birth is as natural as a gentle summer rain. What comes from it, is an act of creation, an expression of a living universe, what could be more sublime or natural. The Reich Was Right!!

  2. Posted on facebook by – I think it sums it all.

When children who have HIV, Hep B, or Tuberculosis can attend school without disclosing their diseases because they are protected by the constitution, but healthy, vaccine-free children cannot attend school with no disease because they aren’t vaccinated.

When kids in school taking cabinets full of pharmaceuticals is normal, but healthy, vaccine free/disease free/medication free children cannot come to school.

When it’s ok for a child to take Prozac but not drink a Kombucha with his lunch.

When all the vaccinated kids have chicken pox, but none of the non-vaccinated children are sick, but they get sent home.

When they keep mandating more and more vaccines and outbreaks increase, and yet it’s still the non vaccinateds’ fault.

When you hear people argue for women’s rights, unless those rights include choosing proper Heath care for her children.

When it’s cool to march against Monsanto because glyphosate is a carcinogen, but it’s perfectly ok that it is in vaccines.

When vegans won’t eat meat cause it’s cruel, but it’s all good that vaccines contain animal DNA.

When Christians won’t support abortion, but justify aborted fetal cells in vaccines.

When it’s considered poison anywhere else on the planet unless it’s in a vaccine.

When people actually believe their vaccine won’t work unless 98% of other people also get their vaccine.

When nothing makes sense at all, you know you are living in a completely brainwashed, corporate run society.
