I strongly believe that men have no place in discussing the subject of childbirth, or the gift of pregnancy. Men and women are fundamentally different on a biological level, and it is obvious that women are the only gender who are able to conceive and carry a pregnancy. So I do not see any good reason for men’s attempt to co-opt this uniquely female experience. I believe that men should show respect and admiration for childbirth and do so by upholding standards of privacy. There are many things in life which men hold an advantageous disposition to achieve, due to their obvious physical strength and size – this is unquestionable. However the beautiful phenomenon that is childbirth and pregnancy is something uniquely female in every aspect of the experience, and thus deserves recognition.
