The Benefits of Dry-Brushing

WHAT IS DRY BRUSHING?
Dry brushing is the art of taking a dry, soft bristled brush and brushing it over your skin daily or a few times weekly. Dry brushing can be done by both men and women.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DRY BRUSHING?
There are many benefits to dry brushing which may help detox the body and keep you looking youthful.

  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Boost circulation
  • Gives you a more youthful appearance
  • Can improve digestion
  • Helps stimulate lymph nodes
  • Could help the appearance of cellulite
  • Helps remove general waste
  • Helps your immune system
  • Removes oils and dirt from pores

“Your skin, the largest organ in the human body is an organ of elimination. One third of your body’s toxins are excreted through the skin and dry brushing helps to unclog pores and excrete toxins that become trapped in the skin.” -MindBodyGreenSkin-Brush

HOW DO YOU DRY BRUSH?
You can either use a brush dry or if you would like to put natural oils on the brush, do so after showering. Begin brushing your skin in a circular motion, starting with the chest area. This is where the lymph system drains. Do not brush away from the heart in strides. This can put unneeded stress onto the heart valves. Move to the arms where you will begin from the hands upward. Using the brush in counterclockwise motions on the stomach can have added benefits for the organs but never be too rough. You’re not aiming to leave your skin raw and red but to gentle brush the skin to get the blood moving. Then circulate the brush on the legs, starting from the feet.

Dry brushing can be done at any time of the day but most people, including myself, find it best before/after showering or in the morning or evening upon.

WHAT ABOUT DRY BRUSHING DURING PREGNANCY?
If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant and are considering dry brushing, use lighter and gentler strokes. Some women may or may not feel comfortable dry brushing during pregnancy. The same benefits apply to pregnant women who choose to dry brush but it is important to listen to your body and if you don’t feel it’s necessary, don’t worry about it!

  1. There is a famous family factory which has been dealing with metal-therapy for decades.

Copper jewels, bandages, insoles for boot gear and Brushes too are among the best hits

These brushes are made of copper and tin, along with horse hair.

Not only they are good for cleansing the body but they provide good blood circulation and relaxation.
